Here’s an example of smart thinking

You know, the problem with the CO2 and global warming isn’t that we can’t do a better job at protecting our Earth, it is that we are being told to do it the wrong way to go about it.

Who cares if we caused it? Who cares if we didn’t? IT DOESN’T REALLY MATTER!

What does matter is that we take responsibility in the waste we make, the trash we create, and most of all, tell the truth about the shifting of polution.  Moving factories over seas, does not count for cleaning America’s air, becuase we shifted it to China.

Here is an amazingly right on editorial that I know you wil agree with…http://www.thewhig.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=1135689

Court Legislating Again?

Filed Under (Air) by admin on 30-07-2008

Courts should only interperate law!  So often, left leaning courts think it is their job to make law, and law is not made by the juditial system.

Air, polution, and global warming are important issues, and maybe “greenhouse gases” are bad for us, created by us, and are air polution. BUT, should the courts determine what that laws shall be? Or should they just give laws a thumbs up, or a thumbs down, and let the legistors rewrite law?

In 2007, the Supreme Court in “Mass vs. EPA” decided (5-4) that greenhouse gases are “air pollutants” and the Environmental Protection Agency is responsible for controlling carbon emissions deemed to be a public danger. Money Smart

In this case, the EPA was sued and lost.  But does it mean that it is law? Or does it mean that the EPA must have the legislators re-write law, so the the court will uphold the authority of the law?

Keeping the California beaches clean is a hard thing to do, we need more help educating dumb people what they put down the storm drains, to pick up there own damn trash and to act like someone is watching them all the time.

In California, where 400 beaches stretch along more than 500 miles of the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, most of those beaches are clean much of the time, said Eric Berntsen, an official with the State Water Resources Control Board.

“Even with Long Beach still suffering from pollution problems, statewide water quality was very good,” Berntsen said. - USA Today

Check out if your beach is clean, look at this interactive beach program.

Redlands, CA - TV’s most famous environmentalist, Ed Begley, Jr. will be at the Redlands Barnes & Noble on Monday, July 28th from 4.00pm - 6:00pm to promote his book, “Living Like Ed - A Guide to the Eco-Friendly Life.”
Begley, famous for stunts like using a bicycle to generate electricity for his television and driving an electric car, will appear at the Redlands bookstore to help raise funds for the Highland Environmental Education Coalition (HEEC). Mention HEEC at the registers, and the bookstore will donate a percentage of the proceeds to the local organization.
“We are delighted to welcome renowned environmentalist and eco-pioneer, Ed Begley, Jr. to Redlands,” said Erin Job, store manager at Barnes & Noble. “His commitment to green living is truly admirable.”
Begley’s philosophy, “to live simply so that others may simply live,” has been instrumental in educating a reluctant American public about the importance of reducing consumption and going green.
“It’s all about making choices,” says Andrea Saavedra, HEEC president. “For example, you’ve got lots of choices when it comes to transportation. You can walk. You can ride a bike. You can take a bus, drive a car or a hybrid, or travel by plane. Ed Begley, Jr. puts these choices into an easy-to-understand hierarchy of options depending on how far you have to go. It’s simple, but these are choices that will impact future generations.”
Begley will hold a book signing at Barnes & Noble from 4-6pm, and will give a lecture at Highland’s Sam J. Racadio Library and Environmental Learning Center from 6:30pm -7:30pm.
HEEC is behind the rooftop garden at Highland’s Sam J. Racadio Library and Environmental Learning Center. Learn more about them at: http://www.h-e-e-c.org

    Energy Independance

Energy is the greatest resource we have in the world.  So much of the social, economic, political, geographic world is tied to one thing, energy.

We know Gas, from oil has been the mainstay of the economy since the early 1900’s, and the world is grown to the point, where we have already peaked in world oil production. The United State’s oil production peaked in the 1970s, and most authorities say that world production will peak between 2005 and 2010.

    So what now?

We need to be smart about our energy, and our economy.  Buying foreign oil sends billions of dollars to other governments, meaining we are exporting our wealth as a nation.

“A record 1.6 million barrels a day in U.S. refined petroleum products were exported during the first four months of this year, up 33 percent from 1.2 million barrels a day over the same period in 2007.” Forbes.
